Background
In October 2024, while traveling in Japan, my Xiaomi Mijia Automatic Umbrella broke. I pressed the button on the handle, which caused an "explosion", where all the parts of the handle got dispersed.
Unable to open and close the umbrella anymore, I had to quickly find a replacement as there would be rainy days ahead. I managed to make my way to a Loft outlet and look at the various umbrellas they had. Eventually, I chose the Mabu Strength Mini Auto R SMV-41801.
The Stuff
The Mabu Strength Mini Auto R SMV-41801 is a durable and wind-resistant folding umbrella designed for convenience and reliability. It features a robust structure with thick fiberglass ribs and reinforcement parts, providing high strength to withstand strong winds and gusts. The umbrella has a canopy diameter of approximately 102 cm, offering ample coverage, and weighs about 385 grams. Its automatic open and close mechanism enhances ease of use, and the safety feature ensures the shaft doesn't revert if released midway during closure. Additionally, the umbrella fabric and packaging incorporate recycled materials from PET bottles, contributing to environmental sustainability.
Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:
