Background

In July 2024, while I was walking around Decathlon, I chanced upon the Decathlon Jump Rope 800 Counter Double Black. As it was on offer, I decided to purchase it.

The Stuff

The Decathlon Jump Rope 800 Counter Double Black is a dual-mode jump rope that can be cord or cordless. It uses 1 CR2032 battery which is included. Based on Decathlon's website, here are some of its key features:

  • Built-in Counter: Tracks your workout time, number of calories burned, and number of jumps in real-time.
  • Weighting System: Includes two removable 100g weights for added resistance.
  • High-Quality Bearings: Equipped with 687ZZ ball bearings for smooth rotation.
  • Alerts: Notify you when you reach your workout targets.
  • Durable Design: Made with a 5mm PVC rope
Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have used the Decathlon Jump Rope 800 Counter Double Black for over a month since this post. I used the cordless mode as it is a much safer option compared to the corded mode, which may have the tendency to hit something around me while jumping.

Before starting the skip, I can set 2 types of workout targets: by time or number of jumps. Each timing interval to set is 30 seconds, while each jumping interval is 50 jumps. First, the weight has to be set. Once the weight and target are set, I must wait for the display counter to stop flashing before jumping.

Once the target is hit while jumping, it will start to beep. It will then display the calories burned and the number of jumps for the time target, or time taken for the jump target.

I like that it comes with a pouch so I can keep it and bring it along if need to.
