Background

In December 2023, I thought of getting warmers for my upcoming trip in 2024. Since I knew that Decathlon sells warmers, I decided to head down to one of their stores and take a look.

In the store, I saw the Decathlon Wedze Warmers Chaufferette. There were 3 types available (hand, body, and feet). So upon some thinking,  I decided to take the box of 30 hand warmers.

The Stuff

The Decathlon Wedze Warmers Chaufferette are hand warmers that provide gentle heat for 5–6 hours. They are made of activated charcoal powder and iron that generate heat through oxidation. The reaction stops when all the activated charcoal is gone or if the chaufferettes are in an airtight space.

To use the hand warmers, remove the chaufferettes from the package and shake them 5–6 times to activate the heating process.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have used the Decathlon Wedze Warmers Chaufferette a few times since this post. I actually forgot to bring it along during my trip, hence ended up using it at home for rehabilitation purposes.

The size of one hand warmer is not big, so it can be held easily. Upon opening the pack, shake it and it will start to get warm.

The warmers come with an expiry date. The pack is about 2.5 years from the time I bought it, hence I believe I am able to completely use it by the time it expires.
