Background

In November 2023, after coming back from my overseas travel, I decided to enhance/upgrade my stuff for future travels. As I was getting the Pacsafe® Venturesafe EXP45 Anti-Theft Carry-On Travel Pack, I decided to add on the Pacsafe Prosafe® 1000 Travel Sentry® Approved Combination Padlock since it matches together.

The Stuff

The Pacsafe Prosafe® 1000 Travel Sentry® Approved Combination Padlock is a Travel Sentry-approved combination padlock that has three dials and a deadbolt locking mechanism. It's made of zinc alloy, plastic, and stainless steel, and is 3 inches tall, 1.3 inches wide, and 0.8 inches deep. It weighs 0.16 lbs.

It is approved for plane travel and allows authorized security authorities to open, inspect, and relock your luggage without damaging it. TSA agents (US), and security officers in Canada, Japan, Israel, Finland, Austria, South Korea, and the UK can open and relock your bag using codes and secured tools.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have used the Pacsafe Prosafe® 1000 Travel Sentry® Approved Combination Padlock together with the Pacsafe® Venturesafe EXP45 Anti-Theft Carry-On Travel Pack during my overseas travel before this post. I can feel this is a solid and well-built padlock while holding on to it.

Unlocking is done by pressing the bottom after the correct number is input. Setting the number can be done when it's unlocked, by turning the bottom one-quarter clockwise, setting the number, and turning it back.

The padlock can be difficult to lock sometimes as the numbers must be properly aligned. I encountered this a few times while locking the Pacsafe® Venturesafe EXP45 Anti-Theft Carry-On Travel Pack.
