Background

Back in June 2022, I was looking for dustbins for my home. As such, I went online to look around for it. As there are various types and designs of dustbins, one type that interests me is the Automatic Motion Sensor Dustbin.

I managed to find one that fits the bill and decided to purchase it.

The Stuff

The Automatic Motion Sensor Dustbin that I purchased comes in white color. It is generally rectangular in shape with rounded edges. It comes in 3 parts: The motion sensor lid, a holder for plastic bags, and the bin. The motion sensor lid uses micro USB for charging.

Here are some pictures that I have taken to show what the stuff looks like:

Usage and Experience

I have been using the Automatic Motion Sensor Dustbin for months since this post. Unfortunately, when the stuff arrived I noticed one of the corners at the bottom of the bin was damaged. I tried to ask for a replacement but to no avail, so I decided to just use it since it is still usable anyways.

The sensor works as expected. The lid will open with a wave of my hand on top of the sensor area, and the light will blink 5 times before it closes.

I didn't keep track of how long it can last before I need to charge it again. But based on my usage I roughly remember that it took about 2 months for the next charge.

The plastic bag holder and the notch to hold it don't really work well. If the plastic bag becomes too heavy, the holder will just sink in. Eventually, I took out the holder and just put the plastic bag on top of the bin, using the lid to secure it.

The quality of this stuff isn't really good in my opinion. It is overall very plasticky which feels cheap, even though it works as expected.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that the Automatic Motion Sensor Dustbin I have is a good option, but there are better qualities of the same type out there. If you are interested in this type of dustbin, you can click on the link below from Shopee and Amazon:
