Recently the Mi 10 Pro was officially available in Singapore. I made the purchase as I have been waiting for it to be released in Singapore for quite a while. For ordering the Mi 10 Pro at Shopee, I was given the Mi True Wireless Earphones for free. I was very excited to test the wireless earphones to find out how it fares.
The Stuff
The wireless earphones came in less than a week. Here's how the packaging looks like:

Here are some pictures of the Mi True Wireless Earphones case that I've taken:

Usage
I have been using the Mi True Wireless Earphones for some time now. Firstly, I wasn't able to use it straight out of the box. I have to first charge the earphones and case before using them. After it has been fully charged, I have to press and hold for 1-2 seconds the button on the side of the case, and the light will blink for it to be discoverable for devices to connect via Bluetooth. After the earphones have been connected to the device, I can start using it by flipping the case open and putting the earphones onto my ears.
I feel that the sound quality of the Mi True Wireless Earphones is good enough. It is clear and I have no issues with it. But there is an issue when playing video. Somehow the audio does not sync with the video. There is a lag in the audio which is noticeable when you look at the video, which can be annoying if you are very particular with it. I tried to search online for answers to this problem but it seems like there is no definite reason for this. There were also some "lost connection" moments where it got drop but manage to resume playback.
As for the function of the Mi True Wireless Earphones, the audio and video playback will pause if I take out the earphones. It will not resume playback if I put it back. The smart control is kind of confusing on the noise-canceling mode (press and hold of 3 seconds). It will play a sound instead of a voice saying it's on or off, hence I'm not really sure which sound is on or off. My guess is the ascending tone is on and the descending tone is off. I can't feel any difference in the noise-canceling mode, hence I can't really tell if the noise-canceling is working or not.

Conclusion
Overall I feel that the Mi True Wireless Earphones gives a good sound quality as an earphone, but the video playback lagging is a problem that may not be resolved. Hence I feel it may be better to look elsewhere if you are looking for a wireless earphone. Xiaomi has come out with the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 aka AirDots Pro 2 which should be an improvement. I have not tried it yet but if you are interested in the new version, you can get it from Amazon* or Shopee.
